During the course of this year the EQANIE Accreditation Committee, led by its chair Prof. Roland Ibbett of the University of Edinburgh, has revised the EQANIE programme learning outcome statements for Bachelor and Master degree programmes in the field of informatics.
The learning outcome statements provide the core of the EQANIE Framework Standards – namely the criteria against which informatics programmes are reviewed for the award of the Euro-Inf Quality Label.
The revision of the learning outcome statements took into account development in the field of informatics and put a higher emphasis on ethical aspects of the fields as well as issues of security in IT. During the revision process members of the Accreditation Committee, representatives of EQANIE members and the authorized agencies provided input.
The new programme outcome statements will now become part of the Euro-Inf Framework Standards and Accreditation Criteria and will be used both in EQANIE’s accreditation procedures and those carried out by the authorized agencies.
