EQANIE invites to the Workshop “Quality Assurance for Study Programmes in Informatics – Perspectives and Opportunities”, taking place on October 11th, 2010 13:00 h – 17:00 h at Hotel Diplomat, Prague, Czech Republic. Deadline for early-bird registration: July 31st, 2010.
As one of its pre-summit workshops, the EQANIE-event is co-located with the European Computer Science Summit 2010, organised by Informatics Europe on October 12th and 13th, 2010 at the same venue in Prague.
The workshop focusses on efforts in quality enhancement for informatics education at national and European level.
The presentations will explain the benefits of the Euro-Inf Quality Label for improving the quality of teaching and learning and gives an overview on the requirements and procedures for the award of the Euro-Inf Bachelor or the Euro-Inf Master by EQANIE. A case study will provide an interesting insight in an EQANIE auditing visit from the perspective of an applicant institution.
After the workshop, representatives of higher education institutions offering informatics degree programmes will be acquainted with efforts at national and European level to enhance the quality of informatics education.
They will be able to weigh the benefits of international accreditation as a complement to their own national or regional system, and be able to assess if the degree programmes offered by their institution fulfil the requirements for the award of the Euro-Inf Quality Label.
The workshop language is English.
